Learners are introduces to recruitment and the steps involved (step by step) and students have the opportunity to participate in being interviewed by Lord Sugar (answers by the man himself are given too). Once recruited, we look at what training might need to be delivered and how through on the job vs off the job training, a scenario to highlight the pros and cons of each. This double lesson introduces learners to the different organisational structures. Real life examples, a group task to assemble an organisational structure to consolidate key terms such as span of control, chain of command. We start by looking at the the great depression to understand the protectionism that eventually failed the world, and the process of trade liberalisation which picked it back up.
